TERMS
Terms of use
1. Scope and licensing
These terms cover FrameSubtitle (Chinese name 映字幕; project name AddSubtitle) and its support website. The app transcribes video speech, edits subtitles, and exports subtitled videos and subtitle files locally on a Mac. For copies obtained through the App Store, the software license is governed by Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement (Standard EULA), unless a custom license is expressly provided in the store. This page explains app usage rules and does not replace the Apple Standard EULA.
2. Responsible use and content rights
Only process video, audio, text and other materials that you own or have the necessary permission to use. Follow applicable laws and relevant platform rules, and do not infringe copyright, privacy or other rights. You retain your rights in your content. Using the app does not give the developer ownership of your source videos, subtitles or exports.
3. Transcription and review
Automatic transcription may contain incorrect words, omissions, timing errors or incorrect language detection. Results depend on recording quality, language, background noise and device conditions. Review subtitles before using or publishing them. Transcription is not professional advice and should not be the sole basis for decisions affecting important rights or interests.
4. Local files and backups
The app processes videos, audio and subtitles locally and saves a local project cache to restore edits. Keep source files and back up important work. Moving or changing videos, clearing the cache, system failures or uninstalling the app may affect project recovery. Clearing the project cache does not delete source videos or exported files. See the privacy policy for details of data processing.
5. Purchases, refunds and third-party components
If the app is sold through the App Store, the price shown in the store applies. Purchases and refunds are handled under Apple’s applicable rules and procedures. The current app has no account system or in-app purchases. Open-source components are subject to the licenses and notices distributed with the app; these terms do not restrict rights granted by those licenses.
6. Support, updates and responsibility
Contact us by email to report issues. We will make reasonable efforts to maintain the app, but do not guarantee perfectly accurate transcription or compatibility with every video format, system or device. These terms do not exclude statutory consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Software warranty and liability provisions remain subject to the applicable Apple Standard EULA and mandatory law.
7. Stopping use and updates to these terms
You may stop using and uninstall the app at any time, and delete local caches and files as needed. If features or operations require changes to these terms, we will update the date on this page and provide appropriate notice of material changes to usage rules or data practices. Changes do not retroactively remove statutory rights you already hold.
8. Languages and contact
The Chinese and English versions are intended to convey the same meaning. Contact us to clarify any differences; rights provided by applicable law remain unaffected. App support and terms contact: gucheng52580@gmail.com.
